The gang's all here: Krays' rival Richardson laid to rest

Monday 08 October 2012 23:17 BST

Notorious names from London's 1960s underworld turned out yesterday for the funeral of the retired gangster Charlie Richardson. The 78-year-old, who fought a vicious turf war with the Kray brothers, died last month.

Kray associates 'Mad' Frankie Fraser, 88, and Chris Lambrianou, 74, turned up at Camberwell New Cemetery to pay their respects, as did Richardson's brother Eddie.

In 1967, Charlie Richardson was jailed for 25 years for fraud, assault and extortion. He and his "Torture Gang" were said to nail victims to the floor, cut off their toes with bolt-cutters and give them electric shocks.
