Three men have been arrested after a man died in a collision with a London Underground train.

Two men, aged 25 and 17, fell on to the track from the eastbound platform of the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground at Earls Court station at 4.10pm yesterday.

The 25-year-old was killed and the 17-year-old was seriously injured and is being treated in hospital.

The incident caused major disruption to rush-hour commuters after a section of the Piccadilly line was closed in both directions.

British Transport Police are now appealing for anybody who saw the incident on the crowded platform to come forward.

Three other males have been arrested in connection with this incident and are being questioned by British Transport Police.

BTP officers will be conducting a witness appeal at Earls Court from 4pm tomorrow.

Anyone who was on the platform or train is asked to contact police on 0800 405040.
