Tommy Robinson has been charged with common assault over an incident at a Center Parcs.

The former leader of the far-right English Defence League was arrested on Sunday after police heard reports that a fight had broken out between two men at the holiday park in Bedfordshire.

One man suffered an injury to his face and received first aid at the scene, police said.

Reports suggested the fight broke out in a swimming pool at the attraction.

A resort spokesman said police attended the Woburn Forest site on Sunday afternoon.

Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is due to appear at Luton Magistrates’ Court on 2 April.

The 37-year-old has been released on bail, according to Bedfordshire Police.
