Two teenagers are among three people who have been arrested in connection with a shooting outside a pub in Bristol.

The boys - who are aged 15 and 17 - and a 29-year-old man have been detained on suspicion of attempted murder after a 34-year-old man was shot in the shoulder in the Easton area of the city.

The victim, who has not been named, was taken to hospital with a fractured shoulder following the incident at the Jolly Roger pub at around 2am on Saturday.

Avon and Somerset Police have said the man’s injuries are not life-threatening.

The teenagers and the man were arrested on Saturday evening and a cordon remained in place around the pub for most of Sunday.

Detectives are appealing for information about a red Peugeot 206 which they believed was involved in the incident.

Detective Inspector Simon Brickwood said: "It's vital we trace this red Peugeot 206, registration KY02 AUH, and I'm appealing for anyone who has seen a car matching this description before, during or crucially after the incident, to call us as soon as possible.

"Also, if anyone was at the Jolly Roger pub in Easton on Friday night or the early hours of Saturday morning and saw any part of this incident, or has any information which could help our inquiry, please call 101 and quote reference 5216075302.

"I'd like to reassure the community that crimes involving a firearm are extremely rare and we're doing all we can to uncover what happened and bring those responsible to justice."
