The vice principal of Diana, Princess of Wales's former school will appear in court today charged with possessing child pornography.

William Whillock, 56, of Headcorn Road, Staplehurst, Kent, is accused of abuse of a position of trust and four counts of possessing indecent images.

He was suspended from his role as vice principal at The New School in West Heath near Sevenoaks in Kent following his arrest in January.

Mohamed al Fayed is patron of The New School, which he bought in August 1998 as a memorial to his son Dodi and Diana after they died.

It is a registered charity which educates children who have experienced trauma.

Whillock, who is on bail, will appear for a plea hearing at Maidstone Crown Court from 2pm.
