Walthamstow shooting: Two teenagers injured in London attack

Two teenagers have been badly injured in a shooting and stabbing in northeast London.

A 17-year-old boy was shot and stabbed while an 18-year-old man was also gunned down in St James Street, Walthamstow, on Sunday night.

The younger victim remains in a critical condition in an east London hospital.

Police say the second victim is in a stable condition in hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

There have been no arrests.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 10.36pm on Sunday, 29 December to reports of a male suffering from a gunshot injury on St James Street in Walthamstow.

“Officers, including firearms officers, attended.

“At this early stage, it is believed that both victims were attacked in the street.

“Crime scenes remain in place. Trident detectives from specialist crime have been informed.”
