A woman was arrested today by police investigating the murder of police officer Ronan Kerr.

The 36-year-old was detained in Pomeroy, Co Tyrone, 15 miles from Omagh where the Police Service of Northern Ireland constable was killed by a bomb which exploded under his car on April 2.

It was planted by dissident republicans opposed to the peace process in Northern Ireland.

Constable Kerr, 25, was a Catholic.

One man, Gavin Coyle, 33, from Omagh, is facing a series of explosives and firearms charges after being detained by detectives investigating Constable Kerr's murder.
