Crowther takes steps to health

The television entertainer Leslie Crowther has taken his first steps after a dramatic improvement in his condition following a car accident in which he was critically injured.

Mr Crowther, 59, suffered serious head injuries when he crashed his Rolls-Royce on the M5 in Gloucestershire more than nine weeks ago.

He is now talking and eating well, according to David Sandeman, a consultant at Frenchay Hospital, in Bristol.
