A dentist who treated his pet Great Dane so badly that it lost nearly a quarter of its weight and ended up covered in skin sores was ordered to pay pounds 4,190 in fines and costs. Camberwell magistrates in London also banned John Wilson, of Dulwich, south London, from owning a dog for five years.
