THE FORMER Tory MP for Shrewsbury, Sir John Langford- Holt, has died aged 77. Sir John, who was knighted in 1962, represented Shrewsbury from 1945 until 1983. He was chairman of the Commons select committee on defence from 1979 to 1981.
