SIR Nicholas Fairbairn, 59, the flamboyant Conservative MP, has been admitted to an Edinburgh hospital. No details of his illness were available, but his condition is thought to be serious. At the 1992 election he held Perth and Kinross with a majority of 2,094 over the Scottish Nationalists.
