A teenager who robbed a bank because he was bored waiting for his A-level results was jailed for eight years at Cardiff Crown Court yesterday. Jamie Insole, 18, said by his counsel to have "only a tenuous grip on reality", in the event gained thre e goodpasses.
He put on a combat jacket and mask and used an imitation Second World War pistol to threaten a woman cashier at a Barclays branch near his home and got away with £1,147 before being overpowered by two passers-by. He told police he had been "acting out a fantasy" because he was "fed up with nothing to do" waiting for his results.
