A man died and four others were in hospital yesterday after their boat sank in the Irish Sea. The Malin, which had just left Workington, Cumbria, sank so quickly the crew was unable to broadcast an SOS.
Three men swam to shore to raise the alarm. The two others were pulled from the sea by coastguards. The dead man was named as Christopher Bell, 25, of Distington, Cumbria.
