More than 2,000 jobs will be lost with the closure of RAF and Royal Navy bases. To go are equipment supply depots at RAF Carlisle and RAF Quedgeley, near Gloucester; advanced jet training at Chivenor, Devon; the Royal Naval Engineering College at Manadon, Plymouth; and two Navy food depots near Southampton and Edinburgh.
