A former magistrate was sent to prison for eight months after Nottingham Crown Court was told he dishonestly claimed more than pounds 25,000 in expenses to buy drinks for fellow JPs. Stanley Jefferson, 68, of Holbeach, near Spalding, Lincolnshire, admitted 10 specimen charges of obtaining property by deception.
