Thousands of rock fans were sent home in disappointment last night when Gary Glitter, the cult pop-star of the Seventies, cancelled a sellout concert at Wembley Arena after slipping a disc.
Glitter, 50, was taken to hospital shortly before 9pm after injuring himself backstage during a support performance by Village People.
His publicist, Michael Park, said the show would be rescheduled after the singer's recovery.
