GP gifts curbed

Tight controls on hospitality and gifts offered by drug companies to doctors have been introduced to curb attempts to influence prescribing. It becomes a criminal offence for companies or sales representatives to offer large inducements to GPs for supplying products, and for doctors to solicit or accept expensive gifts.
