Gunman jailed

A gunman who shot a policeman at close range when his car was stopped in west London was jailed for 15 years for attempted murder. Robert Fallon, 35, of Wembley, north-west London, shot Sergeant Alan Jones as he asked him about a suspected stolen tax disc.
