AN NHS chairman who used the phrase 'Heil Hitler' to an elderly German psychiatric patient has apologised to her. Tom Pindar, a businessman, had given the Nazi greeting to the 68-year-old schizophrenic during a meeting to discuss a possible hospital release.

Mr Pindar is chairman of Scarborough NHS Trust in North Yorkshire.
