A man appeared in Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday charged with drugs offences after police seized heroin with an estimated street value of pounds 9m.

Ian Allan, 34, of Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, was arrested after British Transport Police seized the drugs following a police operation codenamed Dragonfly. He was charged with possession of heroin with intent to supply and remanded in custody.
