The QE2 berths in Southampton yesterday for the first time since running aground off the coast of the United States in August. Fire-fighting tugs sprayed fountains of water to herald the return of the luxury Cunard liner which arrived a day ahead of schedule after undergoing pounds 1m-worth of repairs to her damaged hull in a dry dock in Germany. She sails today for a seven-day Iberian cruise.
