Britain's first amphibious aircraft service for 50 years is set to reduce the travel time to some of Scotland's most isolated and spectacular destinations to just minutes.

In 1998 the Royal Society of Edinburgh recommended that amphibious craft could play a major part in developing rural Scotland as a solution to transport problems in isolated areas.

The company behind the plan, Loch Lomond Seaplanes, aims to offer the first charter and scheduled services to provide aerial tours of some of Scotland's most spectacular scenery within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and beyond.
