The grandson of the motor racing pioneer Sir Malcolm Campbell hopes to smash the British electric land speed record.

Driving his Bluebird car, left, Don Wales, 50, and his team will try this weekend to break the 137mph barrier, which Mr Wales set in 2000. He is hoping to reach a speed in excess of 150mph when he races across Pendine Sands, in Carmarthenshire, south Wales.
