A 15-year-old British boy has died after falling from an 11th floor balcony of a building in Dubai.

Harry Harling, previously of Woking, Surrey, is believed to have been drinking with friends prior to his death.

Dubai Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his fall from the building which overlooks a construction site but are not treating it as suspicious.

Messages have been left on the Facebook and Twitter social network sites by friends and former classmates.

One wrote: "Miss you man. If only you knew the gap you've left in everyone's hearts. Love you so much"

The teenager is understood to have moved to the United Arab Emirates with his family nine years ago.

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesman said: "We are aware of the death of a British national in Dubai and we are providing consular assistance."
