London is the burglary capital of Britain, research finds
London has been revealed as a burglary hot spot

The leafy, well-to-do London suburb of Dulwich is where you are most likely to get burgled.
That's according to research undertaken by MoneySuperMarket, which has revealed the postcodes most likely to make an insurance claim. All of those ranking in the top 20 are in London.
Dulwich is followed by Clayhall, Redbridge and Newbury Park.
A spokesperson for MoneySuperMarket said of the findings: “Our findings suggest thieves favour busy urban areas where strangers are unlikely to be spotted and it’s easy to make a quick getaway. But leafy suburbs are also heavily targeted, with burglars following the money to affluent areas.
“The best way to avoid the emotional turmoil and financial distress associated with a burglary is to be vigilant, make a concerted effort to secure your home and put in place the safety net of appropriate contents insurance in case the worst should happen.”The Crime Survey for England and
Wales estimates that 745,000 burglaries take place every year. Northern Ireland and Scotland record data for such thefts separately.
