A store described as "Britain's rudest shop" is to shut after 170 years.
Palfrey & Kemp is known – and loved – in Lymington, Hampshire, for its "abrasive" owners, Terry Palfrey and Geoff Kemp.
The pair are said to be rude to customers who upset them and throw out people they don't like. The homeware shop is to be turned into a Wetherspoon's pub.
Mr Palfrey, 63, said: "I have chucked people out on several occasions. Sometimes other customers clap because they enjoy it."
Mr Palfrey's pet hates are people rummaging in the linen and leaving finger marks on the cutlery.
