Charmaine Wilkinson: Police 'concerned' for teenage girl, 16, missing for more than a week
Charmaine, from Surrey, also spends a lot of time in south London
A teenage girl has been missing for more than a week after she claims to have left her home to stay with friends and has not been seen or heard from since, police have said.
Charmaine Wilkinson, 16, from Coulsdon in Surrey, was last seen on 3 January around 7:30pm at her home address.
She is described as white, 5ft 5, of slim build, with long brown hair that is sometimes dyed red. She was wearing black leggings, a jumper or hooded top with fluffy socks and black and pink Nike Air Max trainers at the time she was last seen.
Since Charmaine left the house she has not made contact with anyone or responded to messages, social media alerts or phone calls, Surrey Police have said.
She usually spends time in Croydon, Purley, Thornton Heath and surrounding areas in south London and Surrey Police are working with the Metropolitan Police to try and establish her whereabouts.
PC Ian Matthews from the Surrey Police Missing Persons Team, said: “We are all very concerned for Charmaine’s welfare, particularly as she has not responded to any messages through email or Facebook and her phone also appears to be switched off.
“We would just like to speak to her so that we know she is safe and well. Please call us straightaway if you have any information which could assist our enquiries.”
If you have seen Charmaine, or you have any information which could help, please contact Surrey Police straightaway on 101, quoting reference 45150001575 or P15004728.
