Comedian David Whitney fined for assault
The comedian who headbutted an audience member at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August has been fined £600 after he admitted assault.
David Whitney, 31, was performing at the Canon's Gait pub on the Royal Mile. Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard that the comic was repeatedly heckled during the rowdy gig.
After performing, Whitney passed the culprits who were drinking at the bar. He claimed he feared he was going to be attacked, and so got in first.
