Commuters in for a surprise after outbreak of 'zombies' in London to warn smokers of dangers of tobacco

Thirty actors wore specially commissioned Halloween-style masks as part of a stop smoking campaign

Commuters faced more than just the battle to wake up when they travelled to work on Monday, as a team of zombies followed them around the centre of London.

Unsuspecting workers were approached by 30 actors wearing specially commissioned Halloween-style masks as part of a stop smoking campaign led by HealthExpress, an online clinic.

The clinic is offering free consultations to assist people in quitting smoking throughout October.

HealthExpress told the Metro: "Quitting smoking will significantly improve your health, enabling you to enjoy a healthier and longer life.

“It enhances your complexion by restoring grey, wrinkled and damaged skin to its natural colour. Your senses will improve, allowing you to properly enjoy the taste of food and drink without the bitterness of tobacco in your mouth."

They added that quitting would save the average 20-a-day smoker £2,000 annually.
