People in parts of Kent reported an earth tremor yesterday, the British Geological Survey (BGS) said.
Residents in Folkestone reported houses being shaken at about 2.30pm. A spokeswoman for the BGS said: "We are in the middle of analysing the data from our seismic instruments.
We don't have an exact location or size but it would appear from the reports that it is in the Folkestone area." Folkestone was hit by a tremor in April 2007 which damaged buildings and disrupted electricity supplies.
