A five-year-old girl died in an accident at a vintage steam fair on Saturday after being hit by a slow-moving vehicle.
The girl, who has not been named, was fatally injured at 11.40am at the Lanlivery Steam Fair near Lostwithiel, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed. Her foster parents gave their permission for the event to continue yesterday.
"The child was treated by paramedics at the scene within a minute of the incident occurring," a police spokesman said.
"The child was flown to Derriford hospital, where she later died. Officers from the Bodmin serious collisions investigation unit will conduct a full investigation.
"The child was with her foster parents who live in Devon. Her details are not being released until interested parties are all aware." Police have appealed for witnesses.
