Escaped goat headbutts pensioner during rampage in Northern Ireland

The goat also jumped on cars and devoured plant pots in the half-hour frenzy

An escaped goat has headbutted a pensioner in a rampage after being refused entry to a shop.

The animal charged at a customer – ironically named Billy – and jumping onto cars, wreaking havoc for half an hour.

The incident happened at a Eurospar in Carrickgfergus, Northern Ireland, in the early hours of Saturday December 3.

Shop manager Jonathan Smyth said he initially mistook the sound of the goat headbutting the window for a bread delivery.

He said: "I thought it was the bread man but when I turned around I just saw this massive goat standing on its two hind legs.

"It seemed like it wanted to come into the shop and was looking straight at me."

A video captured by someone inside the shop shows the goat at the front door, up on its hind legs trying to get in.

"We had to quickly open the doors and drag Billy inside," added Jonathan.

"Thankfully the only real damage was to the plants which we keep outside."

The frenzy finally came to an end when a man, believed to be the goat's owner, arrived at the shop and dragged the goat off by the horns.
