Hundreds in farewell to marathon runner
Hundreds of people attended the funeral yesterday of Claire Squires, whose death during the London Marathon resulted in more than £1m being raised for the Samaritans.
While 200 family and friends packed St Andrew's Church in North Kilworth, Leicestershire, to celebrate the life of the 30-year-old hairdresser, inset, 500 more gathered outside.
The service followed a private burial when Ms Squires was laid to rest in the same grave as her brother Grant, who died aged 25 in 2001.
