Three lanes of the M25 have been closed after a collision involving a coach and a car.

Surrey Fire and Rescue attended the scene but police said no-one was seriously injured.

Surrey Police tweeted a picture from the scene, showing a badly damaged coach lying across two lanes, with debris scattered across the road.

A wheel was detached from the vehicle and the front windscreen was shattered.

Highways England say that one lane remains closed this morning as a damaged barrier is inspected by staff.

South East Ambulance Service told the BBC that a coach which was carrying 48 people collided with a car. Five people have been taken to hospital.

Police warned that the delays are likely to extend into morning rush hour today and that disruption to traffic should be anticipated by commuters.
