A man has died in a road traffic collision after his car overturned on the M25. The man, who has not been named, is believed to have been in his early thirties. Police say that he was driving a BMW when it collided with two other vehicles, left the carriageway and overturned.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other drivers sustained slight injuries.

The incident took place between Junction23 (South Mimms) and Junction 22 (London Colney).

The M25 was closed this morning while emergency repair work was carried out.

PC Bruce Lister from Hertfordshire Constabulary Forensic Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with this man’s family at this extremely difficult time and a family liaison officer is currently supporting them.

“As part of our investigation we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it or who saw the vehicles prior to the incident. A number of people also now have dash cams installed in their vehicles and if anyone caught any part of the incident on film I would ask them to contact me as soon as possible.”

Anyone who may have information relating to the incident is asked to contact PC Lister on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference ISR 698 of March 27th.
