A 34-year-old man was charged last night with the murders of two young children who were beaten to death with a hammer in their home.

Lesley Kenny, 10, and her eight-year-old brother, Joseph, were found in pools of blood at a house in Royal Oak Road, Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester, on Friday.

The accused man will appear before Manchester city magistrates tomorrow morning.
