A pilot has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after a small helicopter crashed in a field near Glastonbury.
Avon and Somerset Police said they responded to an incident in which a helicopter crashed.
The police received a report of a small helicopter crashing in south-east Glastonbury in an area near Cinnamon Lane.
The helicopter came down in an open area and no-one on the ground was injured, the police said.
The pilot, who was the only person on board, has been airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol with a serious head injury.
Police said the scene has been cordoned off and the Air Accident Investigation Branch are sending an investigation team to the scene.
