Wood Green shooting: Man killed in 'drive-by' in North London

The man died at the scene around an hour after the shooting, the woman is in a stable but critical condition in hospital

A man has died and a woman has been taken to hospital following an alleged 'double shooting' in Wood Green, North London.

The incident took place on Lordship Lane at around 5:45PM this evening.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that one male victim died at the scene at around 7PM, and the woman has been taken to hospital, where she is in a critical but stable condition.

No arrests have yet been made by police in connection with the shooting.

The road is now closed in both directions as police investigate.
