Man killed in plunge from walkway as mobility scooter crashes through glass wall
A man died when he fell 12ft (3.7m) from medical centre walkway after crashing through a glass wall on a mobility scooter, police said today.
Officers were called to the centre in Osborn Road, Fareham, Hampshire, at around 2.50pm to find the man had exited through the main double doors of the building and then driven through the glass wall.
Emergency services rushed to the centre, which also has a GP practice on site, but he was pronounced dead.
"A scene closure is in place and police are investigating the circumstances of the incident," a spokesman for Hampshire Police said.
