A missing 18-year-old girl whose mother was sent a text message claiming she would never see her daughter again was found safe and well today, police said.

Donna Duplock, from Shoreham, West Sussex, disappeared after visiting a nightclub in Brighton last Tuesday.

The following day, her mother, Linda Duplock, received a message on her mobile phone which said: "You will never see your girl again now that I have her."

A major missing persons inquiry was launched for Donna but Sussex Police said today the hairdresser who works in Lancing, West Sussex, had been found safe and well.

A spokesman said: "Donna was found safe and well in Brighton this morning. Sussex Police would like to thank the public for their help in tracing this young lady."
