Official portraits of Prince William and Kate Middleton were released yesterday, taken by the fashion photographer Mario Testino.

The two pictures, taken in London last month, marked the engagement of the future king and queen. Testino is credited with producing the most memorable pictures of Diana, Princess of Wales at a photoshoot for Vanity Fair one month before she died.
