Oscar Pistorius receives honorary doctorate from Strathclyde University
One of the stars of London 2012, the double amputee Oscar Pistorius, has been made an honorary doctor by Strathclyde University.
The South African athlete signed autographs for students and met patients at the university’s National Centre for Prosthetics in Glasgow before collecting his scroll.
Pistorius, nicknamed Bladerunner, said: “Today is a very proud day for me. The people of Scotland are always so warm and welcoming towards me, and I think of it as my second home.”
