Players of the National Lottery were today being urged to check their tickets after a Halloween night jackpot prize of £3,204,588 still remained unclaimed.

Organisers revealed the winning Lotto ticket was bought in the Worthing area of West Sussex.

The six numbers drawn on Saturday, 31 October were: 12, 18, 26, 35, 40 and 44.

The ticket-holder has until 5.30pm on Thursday 29 April, next year to claim their prize.

A National Lottery spokesman said: "We're desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings - this amazing jackpot prize could really make a huge difference to somebody's life.

"We're urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding."

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the deadline the prize money and interest generated will go to the Good Causes fund.

They added: "Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa - someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune.

"We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win."

Anyone who believes they have a winning ticket for any of the draws should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
