Rising cost of mail 'hits the elderly'
A charity for the elderly has criticised price increases announced yesterday by the Royal Mail, including a 5p rise in the cost of a first class stamp from next April.
An Age UK spokesman said: "Although the planned 5p rise will seem paltry to many, it still represents a 12 per cent increase which could make quite a difference to those on a low fixed income."
