Police launch investigation after girl, 11, dies in ‘unexplained’ circumstances

An investigation is underway after an 11-year-old girl died in “unexplained” circumstances.

Officers received a report that the girl had been taken unwell in a town in Scotland at 11.40am on Monday.

The girl, who fell unwell in the Helensburgh area, Argyll and Bute, was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow on Sunday and died the next day.

Police Scotland said her death is being treated as “unexplained” and it is investigating.
