Woman found alongside the child had 'significant injuries'
A seven-year-old boy has been found dead at a house in Shropshire alongside a woman who had “significant injuries”.
Police were called to the house in the town of Church Stretton at 6.15pm on Thursday.
The injured woman taken to hospital from the home in Rushbury Road but nothing could be done to save the little boy.
Superintendent Tom Harding said: "There has been significant police activity at the address this evening and we expect that this will continue through tomorrow as we try to establish what has taken place.
"Our thoughts are with the family of the young child and we will continue to support them as our investigation progresses."
A spokesman for West Mercia police said officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
