All 16 people on board a helicopter that ditched in the North Sea escaped unhurt.

The Bond EC 225 Super Puma came down about 30 miles east of Aberdeen at 12.15pm yesterday, and the 14 passengers and two crew made it into a liferaft.

The incident was described as a controlled ditching. The helicopter was flying from Aberdeen to the Maersk Resilient and Ensco drilling rigs when a low pressure warning light came on.
