Surrey earthquake: English county hit by second quake in one week
Area is one of the lesser known places where UK earthquakes occur, says seismologist

Surrey has been hit by an earthquake for the second time in a week.
One house shook "like a truck crashed into it," researchers said.
The 2.4 magnitude quake struck at 6.54am in Newdigate on Friday, at a depth of three miles, according to the British Geological Survey.
The organisation said the tremor was felt in Newdigate, Charlwood and Dorking, and in Crawley, West Sussex.
There were reports of "a loud bang and the whole house shook like a truck had crashed into it" for about two seconds, it said.
It took place in the same area as a 2.6 magnitude tremor on Wednesday, which caused a few seconds of "rumbling and shaking" in the county.
The quake was felt in Newdigate and Charlwood in Surrey, and in Rusper and Crawley, West Sussex.
Surrey is one of the lesser known places where earthquakes in the UK take place, Davie Galloway, a seismologist at the British Geological Survey, told The Independent.
"They do happen, but not frequently," he added.
