A senior policeman accused of perverting the course of justice has been found dead on a railway line after being struck by a train yesterday in Aston Magna, Moreton-in-the-Marsh, Gloucestershire.

Gordon Fraser, the suspended Assistant Chief Constable of Leicestershire Police, had been due in St Albans court on Monday after being accused of allowing his wife to accept responsibility for a speeding offence he committed. The charge followed an investigation by Hertfordshire Police.
