Team GB stars revel in tweet taste of success
As medal-winning athletes acknowledged the rapturous applause from the hundreds of thousands lining yesterday's parade route, many took the opportunity to take pictures of the event and later tweeted them.
Great Britain hockey player, Dan Fox, who narrowly missed-out on a bronze medal at the Olympics, was diverted by a "games maker" asking heptathlon gold medallist Jessica Ennis to marry him. The man held up a placard which read "Jessica Ennis, will you marry me!!! Please?", prompting Fox to tweet "good lad".
Five-time Paralympic gold medal-winning cyclist Jody Cundy, who swore at judges after controversially being denied a restart in his event, tweeted a picture of the crowds near the Royal Courts of Justice and said "love it" about one person's sign which read: "I am meant to be off sick."
Fellow cyclist Ed Clancy tweeted a picture of his teammate, Jason Kenny, in front of crowds and wrote "crikey!".
